The MasterinMandarin team draws on extensive experience with American language learners to provide culturally relevant and insightful Chinese language instruction. The teaching team combines decades of experience teaching Mandarin as a foreign language at world-renowned programs in Beijing and the United States. Programs include Tsinghua IUP, School Year Abroad - China, Yale University, Indiana University, Middlebury College, and Phillips Andover Academy.

Zhang Laoshi
Zhang Laoshi is an experienced Mandarin educator with a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Logic from Beijing University. With over 25 years of teaching experience, Zhang Laoshi has honed expertise in Mandarin Language instruction, impacting numerous learners along the way.
Li Laoshi
Li Laoshi is an educator with a BA in English Language & Literature from Minzu University and a Masters in Pedagogy specializing in East Asian Languages & Culture from Indiana University. Her passion for teaching spans from introductory Chinese to Classical Chinese, with a particular fondness for the provinces of Yunnan and Qinghai.
Tie Laoshi
Tie Laoshi is an educator with a Bachelor’s in Journalism from Lanzhou University and a Master’s in Chinese Ancient Literature from Beijing Normal University. Tie Laoshi’s teaching interests center on Introductory Chinese and Journalism, and she has a special affinity for the provinces of Yunnan and Zhejiang.
